Single, Return and Weekly tickets

 

Single Tickets - Potteries Area

 

Our adult single fare for journeys wholly within the Potteries area is £2.00. Cross-city journeys on service 9 cost £3.00. Longer journeys, including those outside the Potteries area, usually cost more - for more information call us on 01782 332337 or ask your driver.

 

Young people aged 5 to 17 (inclusive) can get a reduced fare - prices start at £1.50. Remember to ask the driver for a 'young person' ticket to obtain the discount. Children aged under 5 are entitled to travel for free as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

 

Single Tickets - Other Areas

 

Outside of the Potteries area single tickets are priced according to the distance that you travel. You can ask the driver, or if you want to know in advance call us on 01782 332337 (Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent) or 01270 252970 (Cheshire).

 

Student Fares

 

We offer student single fares to anyone who holds a valid student ID card (from any college or university) - this gives around 25% discount on the adult fares. Show your ID card to the driver and ask for a 'student single' when boarding the bus.

 

Return Tickets - Services 12 and 12E

 

We offer return tickets for some journeys on services 12 and 12E in Crewe - just ask the driver if a return ticket is available for the journey you want to make.

 

Nantwich Return Tickets

 

You can buy a return ticket to Nantwich for only £3.50 for an adult or £2.30 for a young person on services 1A, 1B and 38. The return trip can be made at any time later the same day.

 

Early Bird Return Tickets

 

If you are travelling before 9.30am Monday to Friday wholly within the Potteries area (excluding cross-city journeys on service 9), ask the driver for an Early Bird Return - this costs just £3.00 and the return journey can be made any time later in the day.

 

Network Return Tickets

 

These tickets are available to make a round trip to any point on our network (excluding Buxton) and can be bought on any bus that operates in Staffordshire or Stoke-on-Trent. Tickets cost only £5.00 for an adult, £4.00 for a student (ID is required) or £3.00 for a young person. For an extra £1.00 you can also travel to Buxton - if you want to do this, ask the driver for a 'Buxton Return'.

 

 

Potteries Return Tickets

 

These tickets are available to make a round trip to any point in the Potteries area, including to and from Leek and Congleton, and can be bought on any bus that operates in this area. Tickets cost only £4.00 for an adult, £3.50 for a student (ID is required) or £2.75 for a young person.

 

Network Weekly Rover

 

For just £18.00 you can travel for seven consecutive days on any D&G Bus, including to Buxton. Just buy the ticket from the driver and use it as many times as you like for a week. A young person is allowed to accompany an adult for free* when using a Network Weekly Rover.

 

* A young person is allowed to accompany an adult for no extra charge - this offer is not valid for two young people travelling together.

 

Potteries Weekly Rover

 

At just £12.00 for seven consecutive days, this ticket offers the best value travel in the Potteries area. This ticket can be bought and used anywhere within the Potteries area and also in Leek and Congleton. A young person is allowed to accompany an adult* for free when using a Potteries Weekly Rover.

 

* A young person is allowed to accompany an adult for no extra charge - this offer is not valid for two young people travelling together.

 

Cheshire Weekly Rover

 

At just £15.00 for an adult or £10.00 for a young person for seven consecutive days, this ticket offers unlimited travel on D&G Bus services in Cheshire, and also on services 85 & 85B in Staffordshire and service 88 in Greater Manchester. A young person is allowed to accompany an adult* for free when using a Cheshire Weekly Rover.

 

* A young person is allowed to accompany an adult for no extra charge - this offer is not valid for two young people travelling together.

 

Knutsford Weekly Rover

 

At just £10.00 for an adult or £7.50 for a young person for seven consecutive days, this ticket gives unlimited travel on D&G Bus journeys on service 300 in Knutsford and on service 88 between Knutsford and Shaw Heath.  A young person is allowed to accompany an adult* for free when using a Knutsford Weekly Rover.

 

* A young person is allowed to accompany an adult for no extra charge - this offer is not valid for two young people travelling together.

 

 

Group Day Rover Tickets

 

For only £8.00 a group of FIVE people can travel together on any D&G Bus service, including to Buxton, for a whole day - just buy the ticket from the driver on your first trip.

 

 

'Your Staffordshire' Cards

 

This is a special type of pass available to Staffordshire residents under the age of 20. If you have a 'Your Staffordshire' card, present it to the driver and your journey will cost a maximum of £1.30 for passengers under the age of 20 and £1.20 for passengers under the age of 16. All passengers under the age of 11 are also eligible for the 'Your Staffordshire' fare and do not have to show a card.

 

Note that journeys using 'Your Staffordshire' cards must start or finish within Staffordshire (excluding Stoke-on-Trent). If your journey is wholly outside of Staffordshire, you will need to pay the normal fare.

 

 

 

Stoke SMART Tickets

 

These tickets are available from the driver and allow unlimited travel on all operators' bus services* in Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle Borough (except football services). Prices are as follows:

 

SMART Day - £5.30 adult / £3.80 child (aged 5 to 16) - valid for travel until midnight on the day of issue

SMART Week - £19.50 adult / £13.30 child (aged 5 to 16) - valid for travel on the day of issue plus the following six days

 

We can only accept Stoke SMART tickets on certain services, and within certain areas - if you need to travel outside of these areas, you will need to pay a single fare or purchase a one of our other multi-journey tickets. The services and boundaries we accept Stoke SMART tickets on are as follows:

       • The Orange ONE - valid throughout

       • Service 9 (Biddulph - Clayton) - valid throughout

       • Service 12 (Stone - Stallington) - valid between Black Lane Inn and A34 (Chase Lane junction)

       • Services 14, 14A & 14B - valid between Norton (Knypersley Road) and A34 (Chase Lane junction)

       • Services 16 & 16A - valid between Hanley and Wetley Rocks

       • Service 17 - valid throughout

       • Service 33 - valid throughout

       • Service 35 - valid throughout

       • Service 40 - valid throughout

       • Service 41 - valid throughout

       • Service 43 - valid throughout

       • Services 73 & 74 - valid throughout

       • Service 77 - valid between Kidsgrove and Dales Green Corner

Keele Key Tickets

 

Keele Key is an exclusive ticket for Keele University students and staff which allows travel on both D&G Bus and First Potteries services.

 

Keele Key Day - £4.50 - valid for travel until midnight on the day of issue

Keele Key Week - £17.00 - valid for travel on the day of issue plus the following six days

 

 

 

 

Peak Plus Xtra Tickets

 

The PeakPlus Xtra is our NEW day ticket in conjunction with High Peak Buses and TM Travel, which is valid on all services operated by High Peak and TM Travel services within Derbyshire, and D&G Bus service 16 to and from Hanley. The Peak Plus Xtra zone includes travel with High Peak Buses to and from Macclesfield, Derby, Buxton and Matlock and travel with TM Travel to and from Sheffield. Prices are as follows:

 

Peak Plus Xtra Adult - £12.50 - valid for travel until midnight on the day of issue

Peak Plus Xtra Child - £8.00 - valid for travel until midnight on the day of issue - passengers must be aged 5 to 16

Peak Plus Xtra Family - £23.00 - valid for travel until midnight on the day of issue for up to two adults and three children

 

 

 

PlusBus Tickets

 

You can buy a PlusBus ticket as an add-on to your train ticket to get you to and from Crewe, Congleton, Macclesfield, Stafford and Stoke-on-Trent railway stations.

Concessionary Travel Passes

 

We accept English National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS) passes for free travel on all of our bus services (except football services).

 

Please note that the rules on this scheme vary from area to area, and depend on where you board the bus (not where your pass is issued). The rules are set by local authorities - here is a brief guide:

       Passengers boarding the bus in Cheshire East:

              • Free travel to all ENCTS pass holders after 9.30am Monday to Friday and all day Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.

              • Passengers with an ENCTS pass issued by 'Cheshire Districts' are entitled to a 50% reduction on the adult single fare before 9.30am Monday to Friday.

              • Passengers with cards issued by other local authorities must pay the full adult fare before 9.30am Monday to Friday.

              • Visually impaired passengers with an ENCTS pass in a special orange wallet may travel for free at all times.

       Passengers boarding the bus in Cheshire West and Chester:

              • Free travel to all ENCTS pass holders after 9.30am Monday to Friday and all day Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.

              • The full adult fare must be paid before 9.30am Monday to Friday.

       Passengers boarding the bus in Staffordshire (excluding Stoke-on-Trent):

              • Free travel to all ENCTS pass holders at all times.

       Passengers boarding the bus in Stoke-on-Trent:

              • Free travel to all ENCTS pass holders after 9.30am Monday to Friday and all day Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.

              • A special £1 fare is available to pass holders wishing to travel before 9.30am Monday to Friday.

       Passengers boarding the bus in Derbyshire:

              • Free travel to all ENCTS pass holders after 9.30am Monday to Friday and all day Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.

       Passengers boarding the bus in Telford & Wrekin:

              • Free travel to all ENCTS pass holders at all times.

       Passengers boarding the bus in Shropshire:

              • Free travel to all ENCTS pass holders at all times.

       Passengers boarding the bus in Greater Manchester:

              • Free travel to all ENCTS pass holders after 9.30am Monday to Friday and all day Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.

              • The full adult fare must be paid before 9.30am Monday to Friday.

       Passengers boarding the bus in Wrexham:

              • Free travel to all ENCTS pass holders making cross-boundary journeys finishing in England.

              • Welsh concessionary bus passes are also valid for pass holders making journeys starting in or wholly within Wales.

 

 

Keele Cards for free cross-campus travel

 

We allow free travel on services 85 and 85B between The Hawthorns and Keele Science Park for holders of Keele Cards. Conditions apply - contact Keele University for information.

 

If you need to travel beyond The Hawthorns or Keele Science Park, you will need to buy a ticket. If you are a student, you can use your Keele Card to obtain a discount - ask the driver for a student single.

 

 

Weekly and Four-Weekly Tickets for NHS Staff

 

Special discounted tickets are available to staff at Leighton Hospital and Royal Stoke University Hospital on production of an NHS ID card*.

 

Potteries Weekly and Four-Weekly Rover

 

For just £10.80 for seven consecutive days or £40.00 for 28 consecutive days, this ticket offers unlimited travel to NHS staff on D&G Bus services in the Potteries, Leek and Congleton.

 

Cheshire Weekly and Four-Weekly Rover

 

For just £13.50 for seven consecutive days or £48.00 for 28 consecutive days, this ticket offers unlimited travel to NHS staff on D&G Bus services in Cheshire, and also on services 85 & 85B in Staffordshire and service 88 in Greater Manchester.

 

Network Weekly and Four-Weekly Rover

 

For just £16.20 for seven consecutive days or £60.00 for 28 consecutive days NHS staff can travel on any D&G Bus, including to Buxton. Just buy the ticket from the driver and use it as many times as you like for a week.

 

* NHS ID cards must be shown at the time of purchase and with every subsequent usage of the ticket.

 

 

Student Travel Passes for students in full-time education

 

These passes allow unlimited travel on all D&G Bus services on school and college days (but are not valid at weekends or during holidays). To apply you will need to complete an application form and send it to our Head Office, along with a cheque and two passport-sized photographs.

 

Annual Student Travel Pass - £494.00 - valid on schooldays* from 1 September 2017 to 31 July 2018

Term 1 Student Travel Pass - £190.00 - valid on schooldays* from 1 September 2017 to 31 December 2017

Terms 2 & 3 Student Travel Pass - £310.00 - valid on schooldays* from 1 January 2018 to 31 July 2018

 

* Student Travel Passes are not valid on any service at weekends or during school holidays.
